George serves as the CEO of the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya, an industry body that brings together private investors in electricity. George is also the chairperson of the KEPSA energy sector board and the Global Wind Energy Council's Africa Associations platform. He is also director of Phasian Consulting Limited. He has worked in the Independent Power Producer sector in east Africa for over 15 years focusing on the development of grid-scale power projects in wind, solar, hydro and bioenergy. He has served previously as the MD for SOWITEC Kenya, and MD of Ecoener Kenya, both developers of power projects. He has undertaken feasibility studies, project due diligence and management support of operating plants including hydro and thermal plants. Mr. Aluru has also been involved in the development of regulations in the electricity sector in Kenya as well as industry analyses, market entry assessments and industry responses to taskforces and commissions of enquiry as well as stakeholder engagements at project level, boardroom level (with authorities), and public level in the media. He is a regular and respected panelist in conferences, and media houses, and has written various public interest articles on the electricity sector in Kenya. He holds an MBA from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, and a MSc. in renewable energy from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany, and a BSc. in Telecommunications and Information Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). George is pursuing a PhD in electricity markets for Eastern Africa. George is highly skilled in the energy space with over 16 years of experience in energy sector in advocacy and, in the planning, development and operation of power projects including Wind, Solar and Hydro projects in East Africa.

Cynthia Muhati is an Operational Excellence Specialist, a renewable energy enthusiast and a passionate advocate of sustainability, a founding member of Solinc East Africa, with a wealth of experience in shaping policy and regulatory environment and promoting Off-grid solar. My professional journey spans over 15 years in both corporate and social enterprise sectors, with expertise in sector performance management, business processes, and a steadfast commitment to enhancing efficiency, sustainability, profitability, and cost reduction. I serve on the Boards of The Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA), the Electronic Producer Responsibility Organization of Kenya (EPROK), and the SHELogistics and Transport Association (SLTA). I hold a Barchelor's Degree in Business Management, am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supplies (CIPS) UK and Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) Kenya, and an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager.

Mr. Suhail Awan is the Strategic Partnership Advisor of UNHCR Kenya. With over 27 years of experience in leadership roles across Africa, MENA, and South Asia, he leads UNHCR's strategic partnerships with the Government, Multilateral Development Banks, International Development Partners, Private Sector, Academia, and UN agencies to ensure the sustainable socioeconomic inclusion of the forcibly displaced population and ensure international protection. Previously, Suhail served as an Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Technical Advisor with UNDP, Country Managing Director of Global Communities, and Chief Executive of a major foundation operating in the US, Canada, and Pakistan. He has also served on the boards of various non-profit organisations and universities. Suhail is a recipient of the Social Service Award from the President of Pakistan. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science, an MBA in Finance, and is a graduate of the Social Enterprise Management Programme from LUMS and McGill in Canada. He is also an alumnus of the Senior Leadership Executive Programme at Oxford Said Business School.

Henrik Axelsson Lilja serves as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Odyssey, bringing over a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector in East Africa. Murefu Barasa is chair of the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA), managing partner at EED Advisory, and a fellow at the Energy for Growth Hub, He has over 20 years of experience as a development practitioner focusing on energy, climate, and sustainability issues. Murefu previously worked for various organizations including Practical Action, Camco Clean Energy, the African Development Bank, and the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group). Kabengele Bredt is Fichtner Director for Business Development in eastern Africa and the current chairperson of the German Business Association in Kenya. Fichtner is a leading German consulting engineer with more than 30 years of project experience in Eastern Africa including Solar PV and grid-scale battery energy storage systems.

Thomas is an energy engineer and training specialist with seven years of professional expertise in the sector. He has worked on several grant research initiatives and provided strategic consultancy services across energy transition, renewable technologies, and electric mobility sectors. His research interests are in advancing sustainable energy solutions through multidisciplinary approaches including technical capacity building, applied research, and the development of standards.

Benjamin has been at SolarPower Europe since 2021 and currently oversees the association's international cooperation activities. He leads on engagement with the European Institutions on EU energy diplomacy, particularly through the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group and bilaterally with DG INTPA and DG NEAR. He also coordinates SolarPower Europe's International Solar Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI), represents the organisation to international organisations and in global fora, and is responsible for the acquisition and implementation of international cooperation projects with partners around the world. When he first joined SolarPower Europe, Benjamin coordinated the work of the Lifecycle Quality and Global Markets workstreams. Prior to joining the association, he worked in the Ambassador's office at the UK Permanent Representation/Mission to the EU. He has a Master's in EU External Relations from the University of Kent and can speak English and French.

Olga is the Managing Director of Sand River Carbon Ltd., a subsidiary of ClimatePartner Impact GmbH (CPI), where they oversee strategic operations and carbon projects. Prior to this role, Olga served as the CFO at Bettervest GmbH and worked as a Consultant at GIZ GmbH. She also held the position of Coordinator for International Services at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce. With a strong academic background, Olga holds a Master's in Economics from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and Montpellier (France) and a PhD in International Relations from the University of Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

Sonia Dunlop is CEO of the Global Solar Council, where she represents the world's solar PV industry with respect to policy-makers, other sectors and the media. She previously worked for SolarPower Europe, Solar Energy UK and the RE-Source Platform. Previously she was for five years part of the senior management team of global climate politics think tank Third Generation Environmentalism (E3G) and worked for the COP26 Glasgow organising team in the UK government. She also spent five years in the European Parliament in Brussels working on renewables policy. She has expertise in solar PV, development finance, renewables, digitalisation of energy, Multilateral Development Banks climate finance and corporate Power Purchase Agreements. Sonia speaks fluent English, French and Italian as well as basic Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese, has two children and is based in London.

Léo is Policy officer at Global Solar Council (GSC), the world's solar PV trade association. The organisation represents corporate members across the value chain as well as national, regional and international associations to accelerate solar deployment globally. He's in charge of steering the working groups on Finance and Grids, where the industry collectively decides on its priorities to ensure that solar is the main source of electricity by 2035. After a first experience in press relations, he worked for a year in an apprenticeship at the French Wind Energy Association, advocating for the offshore wind industry. Léo pursued two master's degrees: one from Sciences Po Toulouse in European Affairs and the second from Université Paris Cité in Energy & Society, providing him with a transversal academic background suited to tackle the complexity of the energy transition.

Herbert Friese is the General Manager of Dutch and Company Limited (Dutch & Co), a leading Developer with in-house EPC and O&M services and with it a registered offices in Accra , Ghana. Dutch & Co has an installed capacity of 22 MWp in Solar PV and is the PV EPC / O&M contractor of Africas Largest Single Rooftop Project.

Since August 2022, Mr. Sebastian Groth has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kenya. The head of mission is also accredited as Ambassador to the Seychelles and Somalia, as well as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), both based in Nairobi.

Charlotte Hussy is the Head of the German-Kenyan Hydrogen Office and acts as component lead within the H2 Diplo - Decarbonization Diplomacy project implemented by GIZ. Charlotte is also one of the co-founders of the Women in Green Hydrogen (WiGH) Network and acts as a strategy advisor to the WiGH board. Before joining GIZ, Charlotte worked five years as Senior Consultant at Ecofys/Navigant on challenges of the energy transition for private and public clients. Charlotte worked in different positions on projects all over Europe, Africa, Chile and the USA (at the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto). Charlotte completed her studies in power engineering as well as energy and resource management at TU Dresden (BSc), TU Berlin (MSc) and Audencia Grande École in Nantes (France).

Holding a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Social and Economic Geography, Education, and Practical Catholic Theology from The University of Bonn, Bodo has showcased his leadership for over three decades. His most recent roles as Country Director at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Kenya (2020 - date), Rwanda (2015-2020), and South Sudan (2012-2015), among other leadership and technical positions in Africa, demonstrate his dedication to driving positive change through strategic development initiatives.

Catherine Irura is the Managing Director of SOWITEC Kenya Limited, part of SOWITEC group GmbH, a renewable energy developer of solar, wind and green hydrogen projects, active in Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe. She leads efforts to advance green hydrogen investments as the chairperson of the Kenya Green Hydrogen Association and serves as the Secretary of the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya, promoting collaboration and advocacy in the energy sector.

As the former head of a Berlin startup, Laura has made it as one of her missions to strengthen the startup sector in East Africa. Together with various partners, she works to improve the investment climate and promotes cooperation between German and African companies. Since 2023, Laura has been in charge of the Kenya location within AWE, where she implemented projects to prevent sexualized violence against women in the workplace with local associations, among other things. She has been with GIZ for 8 years and worked in the field of sustainable economic development in Sri Lanka, Uganda and now Kenya. Laura holds a BSc in Agricultural Science and a MSc in Integrated Natural Resource Management from Humboldt University Berlin. She is an alumni of the SLE (centre for rural development studies) postgraduate study programme and had consulted for various development and research organizations in Ethiopia, Turkey and China. Together with her colleague Edda Otieno as well as the DEG-Impulse colleague Hanna Dohrenbusch, Laura is managing the Partners in Transformation Desk East Africa.

Hub Victoria Ltd.(WeTu), a current Masters student(Climate Change and Sustainability) and a holder of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a specialized focus on renewable energy technologies. He has extensive skills in prescribing, designing, testing, and implementing renewable energy solutions, with an outstanding record on accessible and safe water, Electric Mobility, solar drying, solar cold-chains, and overall solar energy integration for communities and MSMEs as a low cost, sustainable energy resource, a climate resilient and an adoptable alternative. Lemeeh has made significant contributions in pioneering electric mobility and the establishment of solar charging infrastructure in rural Africa, notably within the Lakefront communities of Lake Victoria.

Dr.-Ing. Matthew Josephat Matimbwi is an expert in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency with working experience of more than 30 years. Dr.-Ing Matimbwi is an Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA); Interim Chairperson for the East Africa Renewable Energy Federation; and Chairperson for the EAC Clean Cooking Stakeholders Network. He is leading the private sector in mainland Tanzania in unlocking business opportunities in renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors and supporting foreign companies that want to invest in Tanzania.

Dr. Rethabile Melamu is a sustainability professional and a leader in the green economy sector. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA), where she drives initiatives to promote clean energy and sustainable development across the country. Dr. Melamu holds a PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cape Town and brings over 18 years of experience in clean energy, environmental sustainability, technology commercialization, and the green economy. Her leadership experience spans several key roles, including Chairperson of the Water Research Commission and Trustee of the Mandela-Rhodes Foundation. Christian Menke has been working at the German Solar Association on solar energy regulations since 2019. Prior to this role, he spent several years at the German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science as well as a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics.

Edwin is the Specification and Stakeholders' Engagement engineer at Safal Building Systems Ltd responsible for driving adoption of sustainable building materials and technologies among specifiers in the construction sector in EA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and various certifications in energy efficiency and sustainable building practices. Edwin has vast experience through various roles in training & development, sales, project management and business development. He's been involved actively in Safal Groups' project development efforts to solarize its operations currently installing 3MWp in Mariakani manufacturing plant and another 727kWp in its Nairobi operations.

Gerd Müller, who has been the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) since December 10, 2021, held various leadership positions early in his career. After serving as a member of the European Parliament, he was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection in 2005. In 2013, he became the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development. Gerd Müller has extensive experience in multilateral cooperation, sustainability, sustainable management, and innovative agriculture. Key priorities of his work include implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Climate Agreement, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the Beijing Declaration on Gender Equality.

Ismail Muyinda is a dedicated renewable energy professional with 10+ years of experience in productive use of energy, project management, business development, and strategic communications. He specializes in team leadership, communication, strategy formulation, partnership management, international relations, advocacy, and opportunity identification to support sector growth. Ismail has worked across East Africa with leading organizations such as the Uganda Solar Energy Association, Energy Without Borders, and The Sure Chill Company (UK). Hon. (Prof) Robinah K. Nanyunja, is an ecosystem builder, environmentalist and international development expert, with over 15 years of experience in leadership and promoting sustainable development and renewable energy. She is the President & Chair, Pilot International, a private sector driven social enterprise promoting global sustainable development, solar and renewable energy across Africa. She is a Former CEO, of Uganda Solar Energy Association, an umbrella body supporting over 300+ solar companies through policy advocacy, market expansion and facilitation access to finance. In July 2024, she hosted the inaugural Uganda National Solar Energy Expo that brought together hundreds of stakeholders to showcase their services, goods and the various solar technologies they offer. She is also the Host of the Trans Africa Investment Summit that fosters collaboration and partnerships development between Africa and the diaspora, whose theme for this year is powering Africa with Solar Energy.

Daniel Ndegwa is a seasoned development finance banker with extensive experience in private sector origination and development. He has structured, financed and closed landmark corporate and project finance transactions in the energy sector. Daniel is currently a Principal Investment Officer with the African Development Bank and is responsible for private sector coverage of the energy sector in East Africa.

Eddy Njoroge is passionate and well versed with conversion to Green Energy Economies through a just transition. He is the former CEO of Kenya Electricity Generating Company where he spearheaded the transformation of the company to a predominantly renewable source. From 2008 to 2012, he was the President of the Union of Producers and Distributors of Electric Power in Africa, giving him a unique overview and perspective of Africa's Power sector. He was awarded a Lifetime Award by the Africa Energy Forum in recognition of his contribution to the transformation of the energy sector in Africa. Eddy was the first African President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 2020-2021 and later Advisor to the first female ISO President 2022-2023. Recently he was elected as a Trustee of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) where he also chairs the Audit Committee. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Telkom Kenya, Corbetti Geothermal Company (Ethiopia), Tanalec Ltd (Zambia), Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) and Proctor & Allan. He is a Past Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Eddy also sits on the Board of Britam Life Insurance, Globeleq - a Pan African power company and BL Energy Mauritius. He is a Member of the Investment Committee of the Africa Renewable Energy Fund (a renewable energy fund) focusing on renewables in sub-Saharan Africa. He is the recipient of several awards honoring his contribution to industry development, including the Ordre National du Mérite from the President of France, an EBS and CBS from the Kenyan President. Jerry Okoko is a senior transaction and finance advisor on energy, infrastructure, project finance and development for the GET.invest Finance Catalyst program, which has a footprint in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific regions. With an education in economics, finance and public policy, he is specialized in investment banking, capital and investment structure optimization. He has supported and advised on approx. $500m in transactions in Africa and the Caribbean regions for public and private sector clients. Jerry has co-developed and invested directly in several renewable energy projects in East Africa while also having consulted and advised extensively to African governments, academia, DFIs and private-sector firms. GET.invest is a European program that mobilizes investment in renewable energy in developing countries, supporting project developers and companies towards investment readiness and linking them with financiers.

Ibidun Oludipe is an advisor at GET.invest's Finance Access Advisory (FAA) component. Driving one of their TA facilities - 'the GET.invest Finance Catalyst', which prepares private sector owned and managed renewable energy companies and projects to access finance. In addition, she also serves as the Country window focal point for the team. GET.invest is a European programme which supports investments in clean energy projects. It works with project and business developers, their associations, financiers and regulators towards affordable, reliable and clean energy for all. It runs on the platform of the Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro) that is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Prior to joining GET.invest , she was an Advisor at the Enabling Environment component of the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP) of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) where she coordinated activities geared towards improving Access to Finance for renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) in the building and industrial sectors in Nigeria. She also coordinated the assignment towards Organizational Development of RE and EE Associations in Nigeria. A few of her achievements are; i) Organized the first ever Energy Career fair targeted towards the Power/Energy sector stakeholders in Nigeria. ii) Coordination of Renewable Energy and Energy efficiency Associations which culminated into forming the first ever umbrella body in Nigeria called the REEEA-Alliance. ii) she has developed and implemented several capacity building programmes to over 500 public-private stakeholders on Sustainable Energy Finance. Ibidun has over 15 years of cross-cutting advisory and project management experience in finance, banking, marketing, human resources, and sustainable energy access. Ibidun holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Birmingham City University, UK. She began her career in the banking sector with Zenith Bank Plc as a Human Resources and Relationship Officer. She was involved in Customer acquisition and portfolio management as well as organizing Interviews and onboarding of new recruits in the FCT region. She later joined the Private Banking Group of Access Bank Plc where she worked as a Relationship Manager with focus on investment advisory, wealth creation and management of High Net worth Individuals (HNIs). A role which she made considerable impact leading to tremendous growth of the group's portfolio as well as several recommendations by the bank and clients based on her excellent and professional client- management skills. In August 2020, she was elected as the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Association - Alliance - an Umbrella organization for all Associations in the RE and EE sectors of Nigeria. Ibidun earned certifications in Solar Energy and Energy Efficiency Finance in 2020, and another in Green Energy Finance to support Covid-19 recovery in 2022, both by the Renewables Academy (RENAC), Germany. Vincent is a renewable energy professional with over 12 years' experience in the energy sector and is currently serving as the Managing Director of Collective Energy Africa, a pan Africa BYD technology energy storage partner. Brian Omega is the Managing Director East Africa. His key responsibilities are driving the business growth of the hub, ensuring deployment excellence and maximum customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Soventix, Brian worked as the Application Center manager for Schneider Electric. Brian has a track record in organizational transformation and leadership. Bernard Osawa is a seasoned energy and extractives sector leader with over 25 years of experience in strategy, planning, policy, regulation and compliance, government relations, project development, structuring and investments in public and private sector engagement across Africa. Currently Project Director, Partner at Frontier Energy, he has served as the Vice-Chair, Energy and Extractives at the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), Director of Renewable Energy at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and Environment and Resources Recovery Manager for Lafarge in East Africa. He holds an M Sc. in Renewable Energy from Oldenburg University, Germany, and a B Sc. In Physics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Georg Pflomm is a Project Manager at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa (AHK), which facilitates private sector linkages between Germany and Eastern Africa. He is based within AHK's Competence Center for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Economy. Georg holds degrees from the University of Mannheim, Germany, and the University of Nairobi, Kenya. His expertise lies in energy markets and governance, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. Geoffrey is a co-founder and director at OFGEN with over ten years of experience in the renewable energy sector. He holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship from the University of University Nottingham (UK), and an undergraduate degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Nairobi (Kenya). He has previously served as a Director at Strathmore Energy Research Centre (SERC) and he is one of the founding consortium members of the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre.

Hanna holds a Master of Science in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg. With a wealth of experience in the energy sector, she has managed projects across Uganda, Brazil, and Kenya for GIZ. In her current role as Programme Director for Energy, Transport, and Climate Change at GIZ Kenya, she leads a diverse portfolio focused on renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy access, and climate change advisory and is committed to fostering collaboration with the Kenyan government to drive a Just Transition toward a sustainable future.

David Salzgeber is co-founder of EcoNetix and a driving force in the development of digital MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) solutions for the carbon market. With over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, he has founded several successful companies, including Salzgeber IT Revolutions, which specializes in IT security for critical infrastructures. His expertise lies in software development, data analysis and the implementation of digital solutions for sustainability projects. A key milestone in his career was the development of @mydataplanet, a SaaS platform for data analysis in the areas of ESG, smart cities and carbon markets, which Econetix customers can use. His focus is on digital transformation and the creation of innovative solutions for the environmental sector. In 2021, a technology project took him to Uganda, where he met Jakob Zenz, the co-founder of EcoNetix. This encounter led to a strategic partnership, which was perfectly expanded in 2023 with the entry of Paul Nimmerfall. Together, they are driving the development of digital MRV solutions to set new standards for transparent, efficient and auditable carbon markets. Wido Schnabel was born in a country with one of the highest solar radiations in the world, in Namibia. Since 2008 he is in the Renewable Energy Industry with focus on Solar. He has built a Solar modules Factory in South Africa and is now Business Development Director for Sub-Sahara Africa for Canadian Solar. In the past he chaired of the board of SAPVIA (South African Photovoltaic Industry Association). For the last 10 years he is Business Development Director for Canadian Solar. Doing business all over in Africa with his passion to Solar is the unique value he represents Africa in the world and has created the term 'Africa will jump the Grid!' His motto 'There is enough Sun for all of us in Africa!' shows his passionate advocacy towards renewable energy.

She serves as the Chairperson of Women in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship (WISEe) Ltd, empowering over 300 women annually through training and mentorship in solar technologies and entrepreneurship. With expertise in project design, implementation, and quality control, she has managed the successful completion of over 50 solar energy projects and works in enhancing energy access for the underserved. A passionate advocate for a just energy transition, Hilda combines technical excellence with leadership to foster sustainable development in Africa.

I am a registered Energy Engineer with EBK, an effective Projects Coordinator and Business Development Manager with a passion to propagate the use of clean and sustainable energy through audit, engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance of solar power and other renewable energy systems. I hold Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering (Moi University) and recently completed my Master of Science in sustainable Energy transitions -MSSET (Strathmore University). I have twelve years of experience in energy sector with a focus on development, construction, and service of off-grid, grid connected and Energy storage systems in eastern Africa with the remarkable achievement of over 70MWP solar power plant installations. My current interests involve innovative finance backed solar power energy investments in Eastern Africa from commercial and industrial, Battery energy storage systems and public road and street lighting for reliable, affordable and sustainable energy access and deployment in the region. Bernhard Suchland was born near Munich. He completed his master degree in heating and air conditioning technology. In his early 20s, he traveled and worked in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and East Asia. In his mid-20s, Suchland started his own project development company near Stuttgart, Germany. He specialized in building sectional title housing units. In the late 1990s, Suchland immigrated to South Africa, where he and his German wife raised two daughters in Cape Town. In 2010, he entered the renewable energy sector as Managing Director of Schletter Africa. In over seven years, he was responsible for the construction of a half-gigawatt of mounting structure and 350 MWp of solar power plants. In 2018, Suchland moved to SUNOTEC and was responsible for the construction of a hybrid solar PV plant in Mali, at the time the largest in West Africa. In 2020, he joined SUNOTEC as CEO in the headquarters in Sofia, together with Founder and CEO Kaloyan Velichkov.

Francis Romano, founder of Drive Electric, East Africa's leading charge point operator, is a pioneer in electric mobility adoption in the region. With over a decade of experience, he has led EV awareness campaigns in Kenya, working with early adopters to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport. John is the Founder of AFSIA, the Africa Solar Industry Association. AFSIA aims at promoting the use of solar energy across Africa and being the voice of solar professionals active in Africa. AFSIA's activities include market intelligence analysis, content generation, info sharing, events and business facilitation services. Prior to AFSIA, John has been leading the development of solar projects for 13 years across 4 continents. These projects ranged from utility-scale to commercial and residential projects, and included on- and off-grid systems, hybrid systems, Solar Home Systems and mini-grids. John regularly advises the public and private sector on market dynamics and operational strategy for solar developments in Africa. Barbara von Toll is the Regional Director East Africa for KfW DEG, based in Nairobi. She is responsible for a loan book of around EUR 400 m. At KfW DEG she has held different positions as Vice President Stakeholder Relations and Corporate Strategy as well as Senior Investment Manager for Infrastructure and Energy and Manufacturing & Services. She holds a Master's Degree in International and Development Economics (Berlin, Germany) and a Bachelor's Degree in International Business (Maastricht, Netherlands).

His experience has seen many projects achieve Energy sustainability and cost savings. Sammy has an Engineering background that has been crowned with several Business and Managerial skills. He is currently the Head of Design & Engineering at Chloride Exide, previously he was the Technical Manager and Sales Engineers in the same organization. Edouard Wenseleers is Globeleq's Managing Director, Business Development and leads Globeleq's activities in the East African and Copperbelt regions. Overall, Edouard has focused on the IPP business in Africa over the last 14 years. Edouard joined Globeleq in early 2018 and successfully led the company's power project development and acquisition activities across the East African region from early 2020 onwards, including the financial closing of the 52MWp Malindi Solar project in Kenya (which is now in operation), and the 35MW Menengai geothermal project in Kenya (which is currently under construction). Prior to joining Globeleq, Edouard worked for ENGIE over a span of 10 years, during which time he contributed to the successful development and financial closing of both the 300MW Tarfaya wind farm and the 1,386MW Safi thermal plant in Morocco and subsequently set up ENGIE's development office in Nairobi, covering East Africa. Edouard holds a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and a MSc degree in Economics and Corporate Management from the IFP-School in Paris, France.

Dr. Florian Wessendorf is Managing Director of Solar Promotion GmbH and Solar Promotion International GmbH. He is responsible for the global conference program and exhibitions in North America, South America and India. He has deep expertise in the solar industry, and formerly served as Managing Director of Photovoltaic Equipment at VDMA, where he was responsible for strategic development, market research and technology scouting, advocacy and policy advice, events, PR and marketing.
